Purpose
To provide financial assistance for college or other training to Alaska Native students with ties to the Aleutian/Pribilof Islands region.
Eligibility
This program is open to Alaska Natives or American Indians who are either members of a federally-recognized tribe in the Aleutian/Pribilof Islands region or planning to attend higher education, vocational training, certification training, short-term training, or other training. They must be able to demonstrate financial need and that their proposed study will assist them in obtaining and retaining long-term self-sustaining employment.
Financial data
Recipients are entitled to
- a tuition stipend for tuition, books, and fees
- a monthly stipend for essential basic needs (food, clothing, shelter, and transportation to school).
