Purpose
To provide financial assistance to members of the Northern Arapaho Tribe who are working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, law, or the sciences.
Eligibility
This program is open to full0time undergraduate and graduate students who have an undergraduate GPA of 2.0 or higher or the graduate GPA required by their school.
Applicants must be:
- of one-fourth Northern Arapaho descent (enrolled or non-enrolled)
- must submit a Certificate of Indian Blood
- or other verification of Northern Arapaho blood with at least one-fourth degree
They must be working on a degree in engineering, law, or the sciences.
Along with their application, they must submit:
- a 1-page personal statement that includes a brief history of their background
- academic ability and achievement
- work or leadership experience
- participation in community-related activities
- and career goals.
Selection is based on:
- that statement
- potential to contribute to the community upon graduation
- academic ability and achievement
- and a letter of recommendation.
Financial data
The stipend is $1,500 per year.
Duration
1 year; may be renewed
Additional information
The recipient is expected to apply for employment with the Northern Arapaho Tribe after graduation
