Purpose
To provide financial assistance to enrolled members of the Navajo Nation or Ute Mountain Ute Tribe majoring in selected fields.
Eligibility
This program is open to registered members of the Navajo Nation and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe who are full time at a 4-year college or university.
Applicants must have:
- an ACT score of 22 or higher
- have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- and be interested in majoring in engineering (mining, civil, environmental, mechanical, or electrical), accounting, labor or industrial relations, human resources, information systems, or occupational safety.
They must submit:
- a Certificate of Indian Blood
- transcripts
- an acceptance letter from an institution
- and a cover letter indicating their career goals and objectives for earning their degree.
Financial data
Stipends range from $500 to $1,000 per year. Funds are paid in 2 equal installments
