Purpose
To provide financial assistance to members of the Northern Arapaho Tribe who are working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in agriculture or a related field.
Eligibility
This program is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who have an undergraduate GPA 2.0 or higher or the graduate GPA required by their school.
Applicants must be:
- of one-fourth Northern Arapaho descent (enrolled or non-enrolled or non-enrolled)
- must submit a Certificate of Indian Blood
- or other verification of Northern Arapaho blood with at least one-fourth degree.
They must be working on a degree in agriculture or related field (agribusiness, veterinary studies, animal science, horticulture, resource economics, rangeland ecosystem science, or agronomy).
Along with their application, they must submit:
- a 1-page personal statement that includes a brief history of their background
- academic ability and achievement
- work or leadership experience
- participation in community-related activities
- and career goals.
Selection is based on:
- that statement
- otential to contribute to the community upon graduation
- academic ability and achievement
- and a letter of recommendation.
Financial data
The stipend is $2,500 per year
Duration
1 year; may be renewed
Additional information
The recipient is expected to apply for employment with the Northern Arapaho Tribe after graduation
