Purpose
To provide financial assistance for undergraduate or graduate study to enrolled members of the Bois Forte Band of Chippeaw Indians.
Eligibility
Eligible to apply for this assistance are enrolled members of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa Indians. Applicants must have been accepted at an institution of higher education and had their financial need determined by that institution based on the Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA). Minnesota residents must apply to the Indian Scholarship Assistance Program of the Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program. Applicants wishing to attend school outside of Minnesota must complete an out-of-state application form. Applicants must also apply for financial assistance from all other available sources, including but not limited to public and private grants and scholarships. They must not be in default of any tribal, federal, or state students education loan or in noncompliance with child support payments. Applicants are interviewed. Financial assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

That maximum amount awarded is $5,000 per year for undergraduates or $6,250 per year for graduate students
Duration
1 year; may be renewed for a total of 10 semesters of full-time enrollment or part-time equivalent provided recipients maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Students may receive financial assistance for summer school
