Purpose

To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students, especially those of Hawaiian descent, who have an outstanding record of community service.

Eligibilty

This program is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled full time at an accredited college or university in any state.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need, a commitment to make a difference in the community and participate in a school activities, and a GPA of 2.0.  Along with their application, they must submit an essay describing their involvement in community service, including organizations, number of hours, and length of volunteer service.  Residence in Hawaii is not required.  Preference is given to Native Hawaiians (descendants of the aboriginal inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands prior to 1778).
