Purpose

To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who belong to the Cherokee Nation and quality for federal Pell Grants.

Eligibility

This program is open to citizens of the Cherokee Nation, regardless of their permanent residence.  Applicants who qualify for federal Pell Grant funding are eligible for this additional assistance through the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA).

Financial Data

Available funding is divided eequally among all Pell eligible students who complete the application process.

Duration

Up to 8 semesters.

Number Awarded

Varies each year; nearly 1,600 students receive support from all Cherokee Nation Undergraduate Scholarship programs.

Deadline

June of each year.
