Purpose

To provide financial assistance to enrolled Cheyenne-Arapaho tribal members who are interested in working on an undergraduate or graduate degree at a college in any state.

Eligibility

This program is open to Cheyenne-Arapaho Indians who are at least a high school graduate (or the equivalent), approved for admission by a college or university, and in financial need.  Applicants may be enrolled or planning to enroll in a postsecondary school in any state.  The vast majority of students assisted under this program are at the undergraduate level, although graduate and/or married students are eligible for consideration and assistance.  Summer and part-time students may apply as well, as long as application is made well in advance of enrollment and is accompanied by an official need evaluation.

Financial Data

The amount of hte award depends on the need of the applicant.

Duration

1 year; renewable.

Number Awarded

40 to 80 each year.

Deadline

May of each year for fall semester; October for spring semester; or March for summer session.
