Purpose
To provide financial assistance to members of the Chickasaw Nation who are working full time on an undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree at an accredited college or university i nany state. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, a GED score of 28000 or higher, or (for home-schooled students) an ACT score of 20 or higher. Along with their application, they must submit a 2- to 3-page essay on their past accomplishments, future goals, tribal involvement, and community involvement. Finalists are interviewed.
Financial Data
A stipend is awarded (amount no specified). Funds may be used for tuition, fees, supplies, books, room, and board.
Duration
1 year; may be renewed provided the recipients maintains a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Number Awarded
5 each year.
Deadline
June of each year.
