Purpose

To provide financial assistance to members of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe and other Indians who live near the reservation and are intersted in attending vocational school.

Eligibility

This program is open to enrolled members of the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe and members of other federally-recognized tribes who lives within 50 miles of the Tribal Headquarters. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age and in need of training at a vocational/technical institute to obtain reasonable and satisfactory employment.  They must apply for all available federal funding, using the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).  Awards are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Financial data

Students receive a payment of $300 per month, up to the actual cost of tuition or $2,400 per year
