To provide financial assistance to the members of the Flandreau Santee Sioux tribe who live on the reservation and are interested in attending college or graduate school in any state.
This program is open to enrolled members of the tribe who live on the reservation in Moody County, South Dakota. Applicants must be interested in attending a college, university, or vocational/technical institute in any state and working on an undergraduate or graduate degree. They must apply for all available federal funding, using the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards are granted on first-come, first-serve basis.
For the first semester of each year, full-time undergraduates receive:
- $800 as freshmen
- $900 as sophomores
- $1,000 as juniors
- $1,100 as seniors
For the second semester of each year, full-time undergraduates who have a GPA of 2.0 to 3.0 during the first semester receive the same amounts.
Those who have less than 2.0 receive:
- $640 as freshmen
- $720 as sophomores
- $800 as juniors
- $880 as seniors
Those who have more than 3.0 receive:
- $900 as freshmen
- $1,000 as sophomores
- $1,100 juniors
- $1,200 seniors
For full-time graduate students, if they have a GPA between 3.0 and 3.5, stipends are:
- $2,500 for the first semester,
- $2,500 for the second semester
If they have a GPA less than 3.0
- $2,000 for the second semester
If they have a GPA greater than 3.5
Part-time undergraduates and graduate students receive equal to half of the amount of full-time students in the same category.
Vocational training students receive $500 at the beginning of the term and than $150 per month, to a total of $2,150 per year.

Funding for this program is provided by the revenue from the Tribe's gaming operatons.
