Purpose

To provide financial assistance to Native American college students who are majoring in designated fields at mainstream colleges and universities.

Eligibility

This program is open to American Indians and Alaska Natives who have proof of enrollment or descendancy and have achieved at least sophomore status as a full-time student in a bachelor's degree program at a mainstream institution.  Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be able to demonstrate financial need.  They must have declared a major in accounting, computer engineering, electrical engineering, finance, information systems, marketing, mechanical engineering, or operations management. 

Along with their application, they must submit:

  1. short essays ( up to 500 words each) on how they perceive themselves as leaders in their school or community and how their education will help the Native American community
  2. a personal statement of 1,000 words that includes their personal background, their academic background, their educational and career goals, and how this scholarship will help them achieve those goals.

Financial data

The stipend is $10,000 per year
