Purpose

To provide financial assistance to members of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes who are interested in attending college in any state.

Eligibility

This program is open to enrolled members of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes who have or will have a high school diploma  or GED certificate.  Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an institution of higher education in any state.  They must be able to document financial need.  Priority in funding is given to seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, in that order.

Financial data

The maximum stipend is $3,600 per year for students who live off the reservation or $1,800 per year for students who live on the reservation.  Funding is the same, regardless of whether the student attends school in Montana or another state.

Duration

1 year; may be renewed, provided the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
