Purpose

To provide financial assistance to Native Hawaiians who are high school seniors interested in working on a degree in hotel management at a college in any state.

Eligibility

This program is open to Hawaii residents who can provide proof of their Hawaiian ancestry through birth certificates of their parents or grandparents. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and planning to attend an accredited college or university (in any state) to major in hotel management. They must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Financial need is not considered in the selection process.

Financial data

The stipend is $1,000 per year.

Duration

1 year; may be renewed up to 3 additional years, provided the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
