Purpose

To provide financial assistance to Native Americans who are entering a Tribal College or University (TCU) to prepare for a career in hospitality management.

Eligibility

This program is open to American Indians or Alaska Natives who are planning to enroll full time as an entering freshman at an eligible TCU.

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be able to demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to students interested in preparing for a career in hospitality management.

Along with their application, they must submit

  • 1) short essays (up to 500 words each) on how they perceive themselves as leaders in their school or community and how their education will help the Native American community
  • 2) a personal statement of 1,000 words that includes their personal background, their academic background, their educational and career goals, and how this scholarship will help them achieve those goals.

Financial data

The stipend is $2,500.
