Purpose

To provide financial assistance to Huna Totem shareholders and their descendants who are attending or planning to attend college or graduate school in any state.

Eligibility

This program is open to Huna Totem shareholders and descendants who have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Applicants must be accepted by or attending a college or university in any state as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student.  Internships, apprenticeships, and on-the -job training may also be funded.

Students must have applied to other programs before they apply for this assistance. Proof of awards or denial by other programs must be supplied.

Financial data

Stipends range up to $2,000 per year. Funding is intended to help pay for whatever costs other grant programs do not cover.

Duration

1 year; recipients may reapply.

Number awarded 

Varies each year; recently, 19 of htese scholarships were awarded for the fall semester and 29 for the spring semester.

Deadline

 

      • October of each year for first or second quarter or fall semester
      • January of each year for third or fourth quarter or spring or summer semester
