Purpose

To provide financial assistance to students at selected Idaho colleges and universities who are interested in becoming teachers of bilingual education or English as a Second Language (ESL) or to Native American education students.

Eligilbility

This program is open to Idaho school district employees and volunteers who are

 

      • interested in completing an associate and /or baccalaureate degree in education with a bilingual or ESL endorsement 
      • Native Americans preparing to teach in Idaho school districts with a significant Native American student population. 

 

Applicants must be attending

 

      • Boise State University
      • the College of Southern Idaho
      • Lewis-Clark State College
      • or Idaho State University.

 

Financial data

 

      • The stipend is $3,000 per year for full-time students
      • the stipend for part-time students depends on the number of credit hours 
          • the fee charged to part-time students at the participating college or university

1 year.
