Purpose - To provide financial assistance for college to dependent children of sea service personnel, especially Native Americans.

Eligibility - This program is open to U.S. citizens who are 1) dependent or direct descendants of an active, Reserve, retired, or honorably discharged member of the U.S. sea service (including the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marines), or 2) current active members of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Applicants must be entering their freshman year of college. Along with their application, they must submit transcripts, 2 letters of recommendation, SAT/ACT scores, documentation of financial need, proof of qualifying sea service duty, and a 1-page personal statement on why they should be considered for this scholarship. Preference is given to applicants of Native American heritage.

Financial data - The stipend is $2,500 per year.

Duration - 4 years, provided the recipient maintains a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Number awarded - 1 each year.

Deadline - February of each year.
