Purpose - To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students, especially those of Hawaiian descent working on a degree in Hawaiian language or studies.

Eligibility - This program is open to undergraduate students working full time on a degree in Hawaiian language or Hawaiian studies at an accredited institution of higher learning in any state. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Along with their application, they must submit an essay describing their involvement in community service and how they intend to continue to benefit the Hawaiian community. Financial need is considered in the selection process. Residency in Hawaii is not required. Preference is given to Native Hawaiians (descendants of the aboriginal inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands prior to 1778).
