To provide financial assistance to Alaska Natives who are original enrollees to the Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) or their lineal descendants and are currently enrolled in college part time while concurently enrolled in high school.


This program is open to Alaska Native enrollees to CIRI under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971 and their lineal descendants.

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at


      • a recognized or accredited college
      • training program
      • or other authorized post-secondary training program 


on a part-time basis while concurrently enrolled in high school or equivalent program.

There is no Alaska residency requirement.

Along with the application, they must submit a 500-word statement on their


      • educational and career goals 
      • how they are contributing
      • or planning to contribute

to a positive Alaska Native community.

Selection is based on


      • that statement
      • academic achievement
      • rigor of course work or degree program
      • student financial contribution
      • financial need
      • grade level
      • previous work performance
      • community service
      • and relationship of degree program to career goals



Financial data

Up to $2,000 may be awarded to each recipient during the calendar year.


1 quarter; recipients  may reapply.
