Purpose - To provide financial assistance for college or vocational school in any state to shareholders of the Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation (KIC) and their descendants.

Eligibility - This program is open to KIC shareholders and their children who are attending or planning to attend a college or vocational school in any state as a full-time student. Applicants must submit a copy of their high school transcripts, 2 letters of recommendation, and a cover letter describing themselves and their goals. Awards are presinted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Financial data - The stipend is $500  per semester ($1,000 per year) for full-time students or $250 per semester for part-time and short vocational program students.

Duration - 1 semester; may be renewed for 1 additional semester per year if the recipient maintains a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Additional information - Kikiktagruk Inupiat Corporation was established in 1973 as a village corporation under the terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) of 1971.

Number awarded - Varies each semester.

Deadline - Applicants must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the semester starts.
