Purpose - To provide financial assistance for college or graduate school to Native people and their descendants with ties to The Kuskokwim Corporation (TKC) region.

Eigibility - This program is open to Native people and their descendants from The Kuskokwim Corporation region in Alaska.Applicants may be high school seniors, high school graduates, currently-enrolled college students, college graduates, or graduate students. They must be interested in attending school on a full-time basis. Along with their application, they must submit a letter or essay describing their talents, special interests, accomplishments, educational objectives, reasons for selecting those objectives; documentation of financial need; transcripts; and 2 letters of recommendation.

Financial data - Stipends range from $100 to $1,500 per year. Funds are sent to the recipient's school in 2 equal installments.

Duration - 1 year; may be renewed if the recipient maintains ful-time enrollment and a GPA of 2.0 or higher as an undergraduate, a GPA of 3.0 or higher as a graduate student, or satisfactory progress as a vocational student.

Additional information - Recipients may use the funds for college and university courses, vocational and continuing education, student exchange programs, and other educational opportunities approved by the board.

Number awarded - Varies each year; recently, 20 of these scholarships were awarded.

Deadline - June of each year for fall semester; November of each year for spring semester.
