Purpose - To provide financial assistance to Osage Indians who are Roman Cathelics attending college or graduate school.
Eligibility - This program is open to Roman Catholics who are attending or planning to attend a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student. Applicants must be Osage Indians on the rolls in Pawhuska, Okalahoma and have of their Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) or Osage tribal membership card. Selection is based on academic ability and financial need.
Financial data - The stipend is $1,000 per year.
Duration - 1 year; may be renewed if the recipient maitains full-time enrollment and a GPA of 2.5 or higher as an undergraduate or 3.0 or higher as an graduate student.
Number awarded - Normally, 10 each year: 2 for students attending St. Gregory's University in Shawnee, Oklahoma as freshman and 8 for any college or university.
Deadline - April of each year.
