Math Placement

NIC utilizes the ALEKS system to assess students' readiness for enrollment in college level math courses.  Students are encouraged to create an ALEKS account and take a practice assessment from home before signing up for a proctored session.

Already Completed Practice or Previous Proctored Assessment?
If you've already completed:
a. a practice attempt at home along with three hours in the Prep and Learning module
b. at least one proctored attempt
you can schedule your assessment through the Testing Center at your convenience.  Please allow at least three hours between the beginning of your assessment and when the testing center closes.  For example, if the testing closes at 5pm on the day you want to take the ALEKS, you would want to schedule no later than 2pm.
