Steps for Official Recognition

Follow the link to print out a "Club packet" on line or visit the ASNIC offices located on the upper level of the Edminster Student Union.

Meet with ASNIC Vice President to review the recognition process, temporary recognition and creating a club constitution.

Turn in an intent-to-organize form to the ASNIC offices to indicate the intent to start a new club/organization. (The two month temporary recognition begins when the ASNIC Vice President signs the form.)

Each club must have an advisor who is employed by North Idaho College in some capacity. (Section 5, Clause 1, Number 3)

Start promoting your organization and recruiting new members.

Develop a membership list with students’ names and ID numbers. Turn in a copy of this sheet to the ASNIC Vice President.

Hold organizational meetings to discuss the purpose and priorities for the organization.

Develop a constitution and bylaws for the organization based on input from the members. Turn in three copies to the ASNIC Vice President to be reviewed by the ICC and voted on by the ASNIC board.

Members elect officers for the new club/organization following the guidelines of the club’s constitution.

Complete membership form listing the organization officers and advisor, their addresses and phone numbers, and submit to ASNIC Vice President. (Click here for printable Acrobat Reader form.)

Meet with Vice President and discuss official recognition, policies and procedures, and funding.
