Staff Assembly Meeting
December 11, 2008
Driftwood Bay Room, SUB, 3:00 p.m.
The NIC department with the greatest attendance at Staff Assembly meetings by the end of the year will receive a special prize. Bring a work-buddy.
3:01 Gary called the meeting to order
Heather Erickson moved to approve minutes; Nancy Edwards second. Minutes were approved.
Campus Security was the featured department. Mike Halpern, Director of Facilities Operations introduced his staff, LT. Bob Thompson, Sr. Officers: Warren Moore, Pat Murray, John Purdie, Stuart Wagner, and Byron Peacock. Security is the first to respond to incidents on campus. They are in direct contact with CDA police department. Their 24 hour number is 769.3310, after hours the phone is forwarded to the officer on duty’s cell phone.
Wade Larson, Director of Human Resources was the guest speaker. He explained the benefits of Short Term Disability which will be replacing the Sick Leave Bank.

Food Drive, provided by Shelley Cobetto
Molstead Library traded food for fines. 34 baskets were made, helped 66 families.
St. ASNIC Report, provided by Heather Erikson
St. ASNIC delivered food boxes and gifts, $524 dollars were donated and 110 kids received gifts.
Senate, provided by Nancy Edwards
Sick Leave Bank will be discussed at the next meeting schedule for 12/18 at Noon.
Board of Trustees, provided by Gary Coffman
Christy Woods is the new chair. The Flex Center has been very successful this semester. The Legislative Agenda was discussed, they would like to offer dental programs, funding for programs that would be offered to high school students and classroom upgrades.
Misc. Committees:

The committee has met, but rates for next year are not available yet.
Sterling Silver Committee, Erin Norvell

Announcements:
Ryan Scott, from CEA announced they will be POD Casting lectures Spring semester, this is the first of its kind in Idaho.
Andrea, from HR - Wellness deadline to submit paperwork is January 15th.
