Staff Assembly Meeting
November 9, 2008

The NIC department with the greatest attendance at Staff Assembly meetings by the end of the year will receive a special prize. Bring a work-buddy.
12:03 p.m. Gary called meeting to order.
Erin Norvell moved to approve the minutes; Lynn Bates second. Minutes were approved.
Outdoor Pursuits was the featured department. Jon Totten, Coordinator introduced his staff and presented a power-point presentation. Outdoor Pursuits and activities are open to all employees and members of the community. The challenge course is available for team building exercises. Their website is www.nic.edu/op.
Gary presented the results of the Staff Assembly. 112 SA members responded.
Nancy Edwards announced the holiday party.
*Party has since been cancelled.
Shelley Cobetto provided an update on the holiday food drive. More information will be e-mailed shortly.

Senate, provided by Nancy Edwards
o Senate has reviewed 13 policy & procedures submitted by Rolly Jurgens.
Board of Trustees, Gary Coffman
o Austin Folnagy resigned as President of ASNIC.
o Prior felonies policy was approved; students with felonies will be track so they can stay on track.
o External audit done, NIC received a high grade.
Meet & Confer
Wade Larson and Rolly Jurgens will be at the Nov. 9th meeting. Wade has been invited to the Dec. meeting. Dr. Bell has been invited to the Jan. meeting.
Sterling Silver Award, Lynn Bates
The committee is in need of nominations for the sterling silver awards.
