Enrollment Steps

• 1. Apply and explore

  • Apply to North Idaho College
  • Explore NIC's many degrees and certificates
  • Find your career path

• 2. Submit supporting documents

  	Dual Credit Student (you will take college classes while enrolled in high school)	New Student (you have taken dual credit classes or have never attended college)	Transfer Student (you have taken college classes at a school other than NIC)
  Dual Credit Authorization Form This will be sent to your parent/guardian once you apply to NIC.	X
  Placeable Assessment Scores Your SAT or ACT or ALEKS Math and The Write Class English assessments scores.	X	X	X
  Final High School Transcript Contact your high school to request official transcripts be sent to NIC.		X
  College Transcript Contact your previous college(s) to request official transcripts be sent to NIC.		X	X
  Certificate of Residency If you live in Idaho but not Kootenai County, follow these instructions.	X	X	X

• 3. Set up your MyNIC and Cardinal Mail account

  Once you receive your student ID number, follow these instructions and be sure to set up your MyNIC and Cardinal Mail accounts.

• 4. Secure funding for college

  • complete the FAFSA
  • apply for NIC Scholarships
  • determine your college costs.

• 5. Register for classes, pay tuition, and prepare to be a student

  • participate in the New Student Orientation online
  • make an appointment with Advising
  • pay your tuition and set up your disbursement (refund) preference at the Student Finance portal (TouchNet)
  • get your student ID and parking pass
  • buy your books at the bookstore.
