NIC student named CDA Rotary Student of the Month

North Idaho College student Alahna Menter was recently named the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club Student of the Month.
Menter is studying social work and plans to transfer to Lewis-Clark State College and attend this fall to earn her bachelor’s degree and eventually a master’s degree. Her goal is to become a licensed couple’s therapist.
A first-generation student, Menter has overcome challenges in navigating college systems, financial aid, transfer systems and holds a 4.0 GPA.
In addition to her academics, Menter is active in her church youth group, serving as class president and family history consultant. At NIC, she serves as a peer tutor and is considered a valued part of a tutoring team that provides support to at-risk students.
