Presidential Search - Ariel View of NIC Campus on Lake Coeur d'Lane

Decorative right arrow Presidential Search

North Idaho College is searching for its next president.

The individual selected by the NIC Board of Trustees will be the chief executive and administrative leader of Idaho’s longest-serving community college. Established in 1933 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, NIC’s main campus is on the shore of Lake Coeur d’Alene at the headwaters of the Spokane River.

This page will serve as a resource for members of the communities NIC serves – on its campuses and throughout the region – as the college’s presidential search process unfolds.

A Presidential Search Committee, with representation from throughout the college community and the community at large, is being convened to help inform members of the NIC Board of Trustees in their decision-making process.

This committee will offer diverse perspectives with members including: NIC Board Chair Todd Banducci; Trustee Ken Howard; recently retired NIC vice president of instruction, Dr. Lita Burns; two NIC staff members; two NIC faculty members; one NIC adjunct faculty member; one NIC part-time staff member; two NIC students; two NIC administrators; and representatives from the NIC Foundation and a variety of community and business sectors.

Recruiting is now underway and is being facilitated by the Pauly Group, a national consulting firm specializing in recruiting and placing higher education leaders.

A position profile and instructions for applicants are available here.

The search committee will identify and interview candidates. Finalists will be invited to visit NIC to meet with college constituency groups, community members and other external stakeholders. Dates and times will be announced once the finalists are identified and meetings are scheduled.

The NIC Board of Trustees will make a final selection with the anticipation of the selected candidate beginning his or her presidential role in the upcoming summer or fall semester.
