Residency Status for Tuition Paying Purposes
Residency classification for tuition determination at North Idaho College is governed by Idaho State Code 33-2110A,
There are five (5) types of residency at North Idaho College:
• Resident (includes Ada, Bonneville, Canyon, Jerome, Kootenai and Twin Falls counties)
• Non-District (In-State)
• Washington State
• Western Undergraduate Exchange Program (WUE)
• Non-Resident (Out-of-State/International)

Initial Determination of Residency Status
Residency status is based on information provided on the NIC Application for Admissions. Filling out this application accurately and completely will ensure you are charged the correct tuition rate for your classes.
How do I find out my Residency Status?Your residency status is included on the Thank you for Applying email you receive after your NIC admission application has been processed.
How do I change my Residency Status?
It is the student's responsibility to initiate any change in residency status. Updating an address on a student record does not update residency for tuition purposes. Visit Requirements to Establish Idaho (Kootenai County) Residency to see requirements for redetermination.
