Investing in Dreams
A Message from the Campaign Leadership
Generations of past employees helped to create a special quality of life in our region few other areas of the country enjoy. Today, however, the world and our region are much different, and workforce demands and career and technical training programs must adapt.
The last time NIC expanded the facilities for trades and industry training was in the 1970s with the construction of the Hedlund Building. Tremendous change has occurred in 40 years. The 1970s were before personal computers, the Internet, and cell phones. Cars had no computers, and machine tools were controlled by hand cranks.
The next generation of employees is being challenged to acquire new skills, and we are confident that the CTE project at NIC will help us meet this challenge.
We are honored to have been asked to lead the Building the Future Campaign to provide critical resources to help complete this project. We hope you will join us in this transformational effort to prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s jobs.
