This is your chance to tell us YOUR unique story.

Share your experience as a North Idaho College student. How has a class challenged, inspired or prepared you for success? Which campus experience is changing your life? We are looking for meaningful content — use your skills to influence others, be the student face of your program or department, offer the community and future students a glimpse into life at NIC.

No high-end equipment needed. With a little creativity and good lighting, you can create a compelling video with you cell phone. To submit a video, you must currently be enrolled in and attending NIC classes, full or part-time. Group entries are welcome, however, at least person in the group must be currently enrolled.

Here are the guidelines:

1. Submit your high-resolution HD video file in .wmv, .mov, .avi, .mpg, .mpeg, or .mp4 format.
2. Upload the completed, signed entry form and any required photo releases or clearances with your video.  
3. Video must include shots from NIC classrooms, buildings, and/or campus.
4. Video must be :60 seconds to three minutes in length. Videos over or under this will be disqualified.
5. Content must feature NIC classes, experiences, and/or opportunities. You are encouraged to include:
   1. Your program/department name
   2. Your educational goal(s) or path. [Examples: Get a job in a specific industry or company, learn a needed skill, get a promotion, etc.]
   3. Your favorite thing(s) about NIC.
6. Content can include contributions from other NIC student (past or present) and/or local employers of NIC graduates.
7. Videos must be appropriate for all audiences.
8. Photo release forms are required for any person – student or otherwise - featured in your video. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian.
9. Any submissions must include original footage unless non-original aspects include written documentation of provided clearance.

Once submitted, the video and footage will become the property of North Idaho College. Winning videos will be featured on the NIC website and social media platforms. The judges’ decisions are final and if submitted videos do not meet guidelines, prizes may not be awarded.

Submissions will be judged by a rotating panel of NIC faculty, staff, and at least one student representative. Criteria will include entertainment value (25%) originality/creativity (25%), production quality (25%), and reflection of North Idaho College’s mission, vision and values (25%).

The following awards will be offered:

First Place: $200
Second Place: $100
Featured Entry: $50 

Deadlines:

• Spring – March 30, 2021
• Summer – July 30, 2021
• Fall – November 30, 2021
