NIC response to extended stay-home order
Idaho Gov. Brad Little said in a news conference less than an hour ago that he will not lift the stay-home order that’s been in place for the last three weeks.
He is extending the statewide order through April 30th.Detailed information about the order and informational materials will be posted after 1:30 PM Mountain Time today: https://coronavirus.idaho.gov
“I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do for the people of Idaho,” Little said.
He stressed the importance of staying home if residents can, and to social distance when they do have to make essential runs to businesses like grocery stores.
He encouraged Idahoans to continue wearing cloth masks over their faces during times outside of the home.
What does this mean for North Idaho College?
Based on Governor Little’s extension of the stay-home order NIC will continue with the current level of our continuity of operations plan, with most of our employees working remotely.
We will stay the course and continue to make well thought out decisions to help keep our employees and our students healthy and safe.
As we near the end of the April 30th stay-home extension, college leadership will re-evaluate our operations but for now, we will remain in our current continuity of operations level 4:
- most all employees working remotely
- limited essential personnel reporting to their offices/ work sites
- supporting our students in their learning (from afar).
We will operate this way through Friday, May 1st.
Never hesitate to reach out to Human Resources with any personnel questions or your direct supervisor for clarification. Keep communications and connections strong during this extended time apart.
We’re in this together. If anything changes, we will directly communicate with you, sharing timely and relevant information.
Stay healthy and strong. Let the Cardinal spirit continue to thrive during these unique times.
