Midterm Alerts and Achievements
All students can and should access their midterm grades in Self Service Student Planning. However, many students are automatically alerted via email to their midterm grade through Aviso. Advisors and "followers" of students who receive alerts can be made aware of these notifications in their Aviso daily digest.
Midterm Alerts
Students earning a midterm grade of C-, D, D+, D-, F, or U will be sent an email alert similar to the example below:
Student Email Subject

Student Email Body
Dear (Student Name)
According to your instructor, your midterm grade in (course name) is (X grade).
Consult your instructor immediately to discuss a plan for improving your performance and seeking out academic support. You can find your instructor's office hours and contact information on the course syllabus.
In some courses, the majority of the points calculated in your final grade come from projects and exams that occur after midterms - your instructor can tell you if that is the case with this course, and/or if your academic performance to date warrants consideration for withdrawal.
Contact your advisor to review your performance in your classes, update your educational plan, and prepare for course registration for the next term. Use the Find My Advisor feature in Self-Service to determine your assigned advisor. Registration begins soon - check the college calendar and Self-Service Student Planning for details.
Best wishes for a successful term,
