Interim Organizational Chart
Greetings,
As we finish the fall semester and head off to winter break, I want to clarify what the organizational structure at NIC will look like while I am interim president.Thank you to Shannon Goodrich who invested a lot of time in creating an interim organizational chart that reflects the work accomplished by our leadership team over the last few weeks. There was great discussion and care for employees as the interim organizational chart evolved.
It’s important for all our employees to know where their department or division lives on the organizational chart. This structure allows for alignment of many program areas. It reflects the interim provost model, helps to bring balance in reporting structures, and provides direction and clarity we all need to continue to move forward.
I know the campus community is going through a turbulent time. I hope this helps to alleviate some uncertainty as together, we adjust to these changes.
With this interim structure, departments and divisions have access to the strong leaders we have across this campus so we can remain flexible and responsive to the needs of our community. Thank you to Sarah Garcia, Kassie Silvas and others on the senior leadership team for talking one-on-one this week with deans, directors, managers, and others as we finalized this work. I have heard from several employees that they appreciated the personal contact.
Accreditation Liaison Officer/Interim Director of Institutional Effectiveness Steve Kurtz will report directly to me and will now serve on President’s Cabinet.
Accreditation is a very important issue right now, and it and fulfillment of our mission should always be top of mind daily. The issues we are dealing with regarding accreditation revolve around board governance. As a direct report, Steve can better support me in my role as liaison with the board. His voice and perspective will be an asset to me and President’s Cabinet. I also want accreditation front and center at every PC meeting. It is agenda item No. 1 in our leadership work.
Sincerely,
Michael Sebaaly, Interim President
