Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women 2022
On May 5th, members of the American Indian Student Alliance participated in a North American effort to increase awareness around Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Students and allies made t-shirts and distributed them to students, administrators, faculty and staff to invite their participation and support.
"The handprint in the graphic represents how voices have been silenced – we are now trying to speak up for them, that their cases would not be forgotten, overlooked, or pushed aside."
Students had an information table in the SUB/Chawnekwhen to share information about this issue as it impacts Native American communities. They gave out t-shirts and red ribbons to raise awareness around the community.
“Lim lemtsh” - thank you to all participants for your support of student concerns and activities.
