American Indian Student Support
Edminster/Chawnekwhen Student Union Building -- "the SUB" -- Lower Level, Room 002
(208) 769-3365
The American Indian Student Support Center, staffed by the American Indian Student Advisor, provides primary and supplemental advising and academic support services to American Indian students. While services offered by the American Indian Student Advisor generally mirror the services provided to current students in Advising Services, additional supports are offered to guide tribal students in achieving their educational goals.
The American Indian Student Center seeks to serve as a sense of “place” for tribal students, and features a computer lab, study space, and room dedicated to building community among students. The center also serves as a place of contact for students who wish to participate in the American Indian Student Alliance club. The American Indian Student Advisor serves as the club's advisor.
North Idaho College sits on the ancestral homelands of the Schitsu’umsh (Coeur d’Alene Tribe). NIC recognizes and honors the sovereignty of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe through the 9 Point Agreement.
