Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 Semesters:

This notice serves as an acknowledgment that North Idaho College signed and returned the certification and agreement form and that the College has used the funds to provide the mandated amount of at least 50% of the emergency financial aid grants to students.

NIC received and awarded under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) student portion, as of October 28, 2020, a total of $1,080,939.

  • 2144 is the estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and therefore eligible to receive an emergency financial aid grant. 1811 students received an emergency financial aid grant. (this confuses me on the current page, why didn’t all the eligible students get a grant?)
  • How the institution determined which students did, or will receive emergency financial aid grants and how much funding they did, or will receive:
    • The grant was established to help cover needs related to the transition to online learning in the Spring 2020 term.
    • Awards ranged from $80-$1820 and were calculated using a pre-determined formula based on how students answered the questions on the application.
    • Spring 2020 Semester: Title IV eligible students enrolled in at least 6 credits as of April 2, 2020, received an emergency grant of $400.00.
    • Fall 2020 Semester: Notification was sent to students who appeared to meet the criteria to receive an emergency grant. This notification encouraged students to fill out an application to determine eligibility.
Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the emergency financial aid grants:
