Students pursuing their GED must create a personal GED account at www.ged.com. All tests will be scheduled and paid for through their online account.

Students under the age of 18 must complete the Idaho GED Testing Waiver Form/Application .  A completed application can be dropped off, mailed, or emailed to any of NIC’s AEC centers. Bring your state issued ID with your completed waiver.

If you require any accommodation, please submit your official request through your GED account.

Tests are scheduled In-Person at an AEC testing center:

• In Coeur d’Alene: NIC Adult Education Center, 875 W Garden Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID
• In Sandpoint: NIC Adult Education Center 515 Pine St, Suite G, Sandpoint, ID
  • Tests need to be scheduled 24 hours in advance through www.ged.com.
  • AEC Testing Dates and Time availability will show in www.ged.com.

Students must present a valid government-issued ID at each testing appointment, including retests. Acceptable ID includes a state-issued ID card, driver’s license or Idaho Star Card, or passport. For additional forms of identification, see the list of acceptable documents.

Testing day

• Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled test time
• Check-in at front desk
• Request parking pass if needed
• Have a valid ID (any government issues ID, State ID, driver’s license, or Idaho Star Card) digital copies NOT authorized. For other acceptable forms of identification, see the list of acceptable documents .

• You must bring a valid ID every time you test. Testing will not be permitted without an ID.

The GED test consists of four content areas: 

• Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA) – 150 minutes
• Mathematical Reasoning – 115 minutes
• Science – 90 minutes
• Social Studies – 75 minutes

The test is delivered exclusively on a computer, which provides a consistent testing experience nationwide and improved passing rates.

Please note a complimentary e-Diploma/e-transcript are free of charge for six months from completion of your GED. Check your e-mail that’s associated with your GED accounts for e-mailed instructions.

After six months of award date

• Go to www.GED.com.
• At the top of the page, click on “Grads and Transcripts.” In the dropdown menu, select “Transcript Request.”  
• Click on “GED Grads” in the white box.  
• Select the state where you earned your GED (or the jurisdiction if you completed it across multiple states).  
• If you earned your GED before 2014, click on the “Before 2014” option on the right side.  
• If your GED is from after 2014, select “2014 and after” log in with your email and password. If you do not have an account, create one.  
• Fill out the required information; please note that there is a fee of $18.
