Submission Guidelines Spring 2026 Aspiring Artist’s Art Show

This art show is only available to NIC students. You may only submit your own artwork. If your art was created in a classroom less than one year ago, we encourage you to submit your work to the 2026 Student Art Show. If it was created outside of a classroom, or you have reached the submission limit to the Student Art Show, then we will accept your work. You must also comply with the following submission guidelines: 

  • Students may submit up to 3 pieces of original artwork.
  • Artwork may be in any media (drawing, photography, ceramics, graphic art, sculpture)
  • Students may also price their artwork for sale.
  • Hangable art should not weigh more than 20lbs.
  • 3D art is larger than 2ft. in any direction will be considered with respect to space limitations
  • Subject matter must be suitable for display in public settings. For example: Work depicting graphic obscenity, violence, and racist content shall not be accepted.
  • Email your entries to: aspiring.artists2018@gmail.com  

Include the following:

One Jpeg image not to exceed 3 MB per image for each piece submitted. Your name, phone number, and email address. Your information pertaining to each submission, such as title, medium, size, and sale price (NFS- Nor for Sale). 

  • Entries will be accepted until midnight on March 31, 2026.
  • If your work is accepted, you will be notified on April 2, 2026. The email will include instructions for dropping off your work on April 8, 2026.
  • All accepted artwork MUST be prepared for display at the time of delivery. 2D artworkshould be ready for display using wire or hanger. 3D pieces should be secure and able to stand alone or on a base. For information about how to properly prepare artwork for display, please contact us by email (provided above) and we will assist or provide info. 
  • Please provide the following information with your submission: When did you make this art, what inspired you, and what kind of art are you into.\

Important Dates: 

March 31, 2026 Digital submission due by midnight. 

April 2, 2026      Notification of acceptance. 

April 8, 2026,     Drop off artwork 

May 8, 2026       End of show. All unsold artwork must be picked up by 5pm 

Additional Information: 

Artwork not sold must be picked up at the close of show, on May 8, 2025, by 5pm. Any artwork not picked up by the owner will be held in the library for 30 days, after which it will be considered abandoned. 

Jurors comprised of representatives from local galleries will decide awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. In addition, special category for “Best in Show” will also be determined. This is your opportunity to shine.
