One of our goals as the Faculty Assembly Adjunct Committee is to create more recognition for our adjunct faculty staff. The nominated adjunct will be recognized by a brief description posted below. If you would like to nominate someone, please contact the Adjunct Faculty Representative.
2025
Spring Semester: Angie McDougal & James Schmehl
Angie McDougall has been an adjunct in the dental hygiene program for four years. She has continually volunteered her time and effort. Angie is always willing to help with a smile and a great attitude. She has poured her heart and soul into her classes, and the students can feel her enthusiasm.
James Schmehl is an adjunct professor in the music department who goes above and beyond in supporting student success. He is a valuable resource for anything music related, both at the college and in the community. He works closely with other faculty members during productions to ensure student success.
2024
Fall Semester: Cathy Matresse & Candace Johnson
Cathy Matresse was nominated for spotlight by her senior administrative assistant for her efforts in serving students and NIC. Cathy regularly attends division and department meetings, while always submitting grades and attendance on time. Cathy has taught at North Idaho College for over 20 years!
Candace Johnson is a delight to work with as she teaches Anthropology Classes. It is clear that Candance really cares about her students’ success. Candace is often the first faculty member to enter her attendance and grades on time each semester and participates on the Faculty Assembly Adjunct Committee Monthly!
Spring Semester: James C Devlin & Shawna Broeder
James Devlin is a Sandpoint adjunct faculty and has been an active member of FAAC since its inception in September 2022. His biggest accomplishment this semester has been completing his OER (Open Educational Resource) textbook. Otherwise, he regularly attends his division meetings and Faculty Assembly meetings.
Shawna Broeder is an adjunct teaching in the Communication & Fine Arts department. She is this semesters Adjunct Faculty Representative, leading the FAAC meetings each month. She also helps out with advising services.
