North Idaho College will host its inaugural NIC Color Fun Run on Saturday, Aug. 23.
This event features a 5-kilometer color powder run through NIC’s Coeur d’Alene campus, where participants will be showered with colorful powder at various points along the route. The powder is made of cornstarch and can easily be washed out.
The fun run begins at 1 p.m.; check in at 10 a.m.
Registration for the fun run is free for NIC students and individuals aged 18 and under. For all other participants, the registration fee is $20. Each registration includes a T-shirt, bandanna and sunglasses.
The fun run is not timed. Participants are encouraged to finish the event at any pace they are comfortable with. There will be an afterparty with a live DJ and food trucks on site.
"We are really excited to be able to invite the community to this event," NIC Marketing and Events Coordinator Elli Michael said. "The route is gorgeous and, whether you want to walk or run, there will be plenty of fun for all ages.
“It’s been a few years since NIC hosted a fun run, and we’re really looking forward to participants being able to enjoy this."
Eligible participants will be entered into a drawing to win NIC scholarships.
