Building Civic Knowledge, Engagement, and Leadership for the Future
The Next 250 at North Idaho College is part of a statewide initiative led by Idaho’s public colleges and universities to strengthen civic knowledge, civil discourse, and community engagement for the next generation of citizens. Inspired by America’s 250th anniversary and looking beyond it, this effort encourages students, employees, and community members to deepen their understanding of civic rights and responsibilities while developing the skills needed to lead, collaborate, and contribute in a democratic society.
As we celebrate America’s past, we are equally focused on shaping the next 250 years—one student, one community, and one meaningful experience at a time.

About the Committee
The Next 250 Committee coordinates North Idaho College’s participation in Idaho’s statewide civic engagement initiative. The committee works to expand civic learning opportunities across academics, student life, and community partnerships while promoting respectful dialogue, critical thinking, public service, and civic responsibility.
