English Placement

The Write Class (TWC)

The Write Class (TWC) is a free, unproctored placement assessment that can be taken anywhere, at any time using a computer with a connection to the Internet.

Have your NIC student ID number handy, and expect to spend 15-45 minutes to complete the assessment.

Start The Write Class

You will receive an NIC English course placement within one week after completing TWC.

Yes. You can stop in the middle of TWC and complete it at another time. TWC will resume at the place you left.

No. Be sure to read each screen thoroughly. Once you acknowledge you have read that section, you will not be able to refer back to it. 

No. TWC gathers information about your own assessment of your skill level in addition to your demonstrated writing ability and your reported information about your reading and writing experience.
