Welcome!
Department of Student Involvement
We support student success by involving students in meaningful engagements that build connections, leadership skills, resiliency, and civic-mindedness through participation in strengths-based leadership, clubs, events, and community engagement opportunities while promoting stewardship, life-long learning, and diversity.
Find out more on how to become involved with your ASNIC Student Government, which Student-led Events are happening, and how to join or start a club on campus.
Students can also get active and explore what NIC's Recreational Sports has to offer via our Student Wellness and Recreation Center on campus. Outdoor trips and rentals are offered by Outdoor Pursuits where students can enjoy the outdoors.
Come visit our Get Involved! booth in the Student Union plaza or come upstairs to the ASNIC offices to find out how you can be even more connected with your campus community.
ASNIC Student Government
ASNIC (pronounced Az-nik) is an acronym for the Associated Students of North Idaho College. All currently
registered students at North Idaho College are members of ASNIC.
The ASNIC Student Government is made up of students
elected by students to represent the Associated Students of North Idaho College
- our entire NIC student body. They are the voice of NIC's students who advocate for positive changes on campus.
Student Events Board
The Student Events Board is made up of NIC students who plan events and activities for other NIC students. Events are usually free and are held both on and off campus. Get in touch and weigh in on student events you'd like to see.
ASNIC Clubs
ASNIC Clubs provide students opportunities for learning outside the classroom; meeting people with similar interests; developing life, work, and leadership skills; gaining a broader experience and a greater perspective; and engaging students as citizens of the campus community.
Explore what clubs are active and get in touch to see how you can join in the fun.
NIC Recreational Sports
NIC Student Wellness and Recreation offers state-of-the-art
facilities and a staff of highly-trained, caring professionals who provide our
college community a complete indoor and outdoor recreational experience.
Outdoor Pursuits exercises both body and mind through wilderness-based, environmentally sound outdoor adventures. Our activities foster educational growth through self-awareness, teamwork and risk taking. We provide a non-profit outdoor service with trips and rentals for all those in our community.
Sunspot at Yap-Keehn-Um Beach is your place to gear up for a fun-filled day on Lake Coeur d'Alene! Come down and cruise the water on one of our sailboats, kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddleboards. We're right over the dike road from the south side of NIC campus. Watch for the volleyballs and listen for the whipping sails!
