NIC Student Wellness and Recreation Center (SWRC) offers state-of-the-art facilities and a staff of highly trained, caring and passionate professionals who provide our college community a complete indoor and outdoor recreational experience for students and employees.
Our Student Wellness and Recreation Center includes a climbing wall, fitness classrooms, weight and cardio areas, gymnasium, multi-purpose room, elevated track, locker rooms and an administration suite.
The mission of Student Wellness and Recreation is to promote opportunities that foster community and instill a sense of belonging through physical activity for all NIC students, staff, and faculty. We envision a dynamic program that engages every participant and environment for students to develop both personally and professionally by offering many opportunities for involvement. Memberships
Student Memberships
- Membership is available to NIC Full-Time and Part-Time Students.
- Full-time students have access to the Student Wellness and Recreation Center with tuition; part-time students must pay the remainder of their prorated student fee to gain access to the center.
- All student members must be 18 years of age and have a Cardinal Card issued by Cardinal Central to have access to the facility.
Pricing
Students taking less than 12 credits are considered part-time and must purchase a membership. Semester membership is determined by the number of credits a student is registered for and is a one-time fee each semester.

- Underage dual credit students can purchase a membership with a guardian present.
- A parent or guardian must sign the SWRC Access Waiver when purchasing a dual credit student membership.
Employee Membership
- Student Wellness and Recreation Center membership is available to NIC faculty and staff, as well as their spouses or partners.
- All members must be 18 years of age and have a Cardinal Card issued by Cardinal Central to have access to the facility.
Pricing
NIC part-time employees can sign up for monthly or annual memberships. Monthly memberships cost $30 per month, and an annual membership costs $290.

Full-Time Employees
NIC full-time employees must sign up for a membership through our payroll deduction program. The amount deducted from your paycheck varies on your deduction status and if you would like to add your spouse or partner to your membership.
If you wish to cancel your annual membership, then there will be a $75 fee per membership in the first year of your membership.

Alumni Membership
Student Wellness and Recreation Center membership is available to NIC Alumni Association members. Present your Alumni Association card at the front desk to sign up for a membership.
The NIC Alumni Association encourages a lifelong connection to North Idaho College. Alumni Association membership is free and open to anyone who has completed:
- at least 12 academic credits
- the first semester of a certificate course
- or an apprenticeship at NIC
