Education Division

North Idaho College’s Education Division is committed to providing students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support academic, professional and personal growth. These programs prepare students for careers in child development, education, recreation, fitness, and wellness, while also encouraging lifelong learning and healthy, active lifestyles.

The Education Division focuses on developing the knowledge, skills and experiences students need to work with children, lead others, promote wellness and recreation, and make a positive impact in their communities. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical experiences, students have opportunities to develop leadership, communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills that can be applied in a wide variety of careers and settings.

The Education Division offers programs in Child Development, Education (Elementary and Secondary), Sport and Exercise Science (Physical Education), Outdoor Recreation Leadership, and Military Science. Whether preparing for a career working with children and families, pursuing a passion for fitness and wellness, or developing skills for a career in outdoor recreation, students can find opportunities to learn, grow and pursue their goals at NIC.
