The FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION and NIC Workforce Training are offering a free 5 week Heavy Equipment Operator Training program. This intensive course includes classroom instruction, simulator work, and hands on training. Participants earn the following certifications and certificate of completion:
- Heavy Equipment Operation
- Flagging
- Forklift
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- OSHA‑10
- NCCER/CORE curriculum
Graduates might also continue on to obtain their commercial driver’s license. The program also provides career‑building support, including soft‑skills training, resume development, interview preparation, and introductions to local employers.
Additional Information:
- An application must be submitted for review of acceptance into the program.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Attendance is 100% mandatory (40 hours/week, four 10‑hour days).
- All online coursework must be completed.
