We have a special opportunity for you!

You are invited to attend NIC's new First-Year Experience Seminar. This is a one-credit course that will kick off your NIC experience in the strongest way possible.

NIC First-Year Experience Seminar is only available to students with fewer than 15 credits who want to succeed and are ready to engage in order to make the most of their academic experience.

What exactly is the FYE seminar?

The FYE seminar is a one-credit course attached to a GEM class that prepares you for college and career success. The credit is FREE to you as NIC will provide a scholarship that covers the cost!

Why should you enroll in FYE seminar?

  • To develop and practice habits for college success in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
  • To make meaningful connections with faculty and fellow students who will support you as you begin your academic journey.
  • To actively engage with your own learning and develop the habits needed to succeed in college and in your future career.
  • To connect with campus resources that will help you succeed in your coursework.
  • To develop plans to help you to achieve your college and career goals.

Added Bonus

This year, enrolling the free FYE Seminar has an added bonus.

If you attend the Cardinal Convocation celebration event on August 19 - an event for FYE students only - you will receive a $100 GIFT CERTIFICATE to the NIC Campus Bookstore.

Attendance at Cardinal Convocation will also earn you 50 extra credit points for your FYE Seminar course.

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and look forward to seeing you in August. If you have any questions, contact to your advisor or email FYE@nic.edu.
